It seems thriving careers may have been less a factor in the split up of Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds, and more the way she treated him.
"He would say that she treated him badly. It never seemed like she made him a priority," an insider on the set of Reynolds' movie Green Lantern said.
"He was open on set that he and Scarlett were having problems."
The pair announced their impending divorce just weeks ago without specifying a cause of the break-up. Friends had speculated it was driven by their thriving careers, which kept them apart for long periods of time.
But a friend of Reynolds said the actor is "beyond sad and depressed" that he couldn't make it work, whereas Johansson is moving on.
"She was disconnected and disaffected. It was harsh," the friend of Reynolds told Us Weekly.
Reynolds is trying to take solace in work, but we know a few ladies who would happily try to boost his mood.
