Stars of success align for Nash and Chord Overstreet
Nash Overstreet plays lead guitar for pop rock group Hot Chelle Rae and his younger brother Chord plays Sam Evans on Glee.
Over the last 12 months, the Hot Chelle Rae lads have climbed music charts across the world with their party track “Tonight Tonight” and Chord has shot to international fame through his portrayal of McKinley High's favourite bleached-blonde transfer student.
Despite pursing different avenues within the entertainment industry, the duo from Nashville, Tennessse, both kicked off their careers, and achieved mainstream success, around the same time.
Nash told NovaFM it’s been awesome to share big moments of his career with his younger brother.
“In early 2009 we went to Los Angeles to record our first record and at the same exact time he started shooting a movie," he explained.
"It was really cool to have the first official real gig in each of our careers at the same time."
Despite working in different areas of entertainment, the duo's ensured their paths have crossed.
Chord recently made a cameo in HCR's "Tonight Tonight" video, and Nash hopes they can soon return the favour with a spot onGlee.
“I would hope so. We’ll see what happens with this third season – whether they use “Tonight Tonight” and cover it– or if they want to have the band featured, or if they want to do our next single – however it works out, we’d be definitely be happy to do it.”
Coming from rich music roots in Nashville, and a very musical family, it appears the success of both the Overstreet brothers was written in the stars.
Nash said he felt unbelievably proud of his little bro.
“I remember we got to see him play on the Glee Live tour in Los Angeles. He gave a nod out to us in the crowd and it was an awesome moment,” he explained.
“He’s been to so many of our shows so seeing him from the audience, and not being on stage for once, was such a cool feeling.
“It definitely made me proud.”
