Taylor Lautner is a goody two shoes with a thing for cougars.
The 18-year-old says while he might be able to legally booze it up in Australia, he’ll more likely to be found signing older ladies’ undies during his whirlwind press trip down under.
“(Cougars) are twice as dangerous, three, four,” he laughed when asked by Ryan, Monty and Wippa how his rabid older female fans compare to his teen fans.
“You get mums that ask you to take your shirt off or sign their underwear…there’s a lot of stuff.
“They are definitely the most passionate and we love our cougar mums.”
While a lot of child stars run off the rails well before their 18th birthday, Lautner isn’t one.
He has been a star since he was a kid, entering America’s Most Talented Kid competition (which he lost: “I was definitely not America’s most talented kid!”) and starring as Shark Boy in Shark Boy and Lava Girl.
When asked if he’d be hitting the booze in Australia, he soberly replied: “I don’t know about that.”
“Taylor walks the line,” co-star Kristen Stewart explained ahead of their Q&A session at Luna Park.
“Are you a goody two shoes, Taylor?” Monty asked.
“Yes, I would have to say – in the best possible way,” replied Kristen for Taylor.
His behaving could be due to his love of fitness and living healthy. He told Ryan, Monty and Wippa about shaping up for Twilight and if his martial arts training as a six-year-old had helped.
“I’ve done sports my whole life but the actual weight lifting started right after we finished filming Twilight about a year and a half ago,” he said.
Kristen joked he got into shape as a F-you to producers. And although he got pretty built, there is one thing he absolutely cannot do anymore.
“No, I can’t (do the splits). That’s actually the one thing I can’t do,” he said.
“The flexibility (required) – you stop stretching and it’s gone like that. So I can still do all the flips and tricks and acrobatics but the splits are long gone.”
