Following news he's been signed to play action figure Max Steel in an upcoming film adaptation, 'Twilight hottie' Taylor Lautner's adding another superhero to his resume: Stretch Armstrong.
Lautner has agreed to play Stretch Armstrong - the bendable action figure, with elastic limbs - in a 3D action film.
Brian Grazer has been brought on to produce the feature, and released the following statement:
“Stretch Armstrong is a character I have wanted to see on screen for a long time. He’s an unconventional kind of super hero with a power that no one would want. It’s a story about a guy stretching - if you will - the limits of what is possible to become all that he can be.”
A spokesperson for Universal Pictures said of Lautner's casting:
"In the past two years, Taylor has emerged as a real star at the global box office."[Lautner] brings the perfect balance of energy and athleticism to the role of an unlikely super hero with a fantastic super power. We couldn't be more pleased that he has agreed to be our Stretch."
'Stretch Armstrong' is due for an April 2011 release.
