Welcome to my first Masterchef blog. It’s actually my first blog ever. I’m sure it’ll get better by the end of the series – so stick with it people!
So, the big M is back on telly and I’m loving it. I know the episodes go for three and a half hours but I’m so into it.
Last night’s episode was getting to know the top 24 and did they pull on the heart strings? The contestants had to cook a meal from their childhood in 90 minutes.
Most were amazing of course, but I felt sorry for the contestants whose ‘childhood memories’ of food were like NORMAL Aussie families.
Take Kate, for example. She served up chicken and cheese slice.
Judges Gary Mehigan and George Calombaris were obviously disgusted - especially when she mentioned it’s normally a microwave dish. That’s a word you NEVER mention on Masterchef.
But it’s what most of us would have eaten growing up. We weren’t all served pork belly ravioli on a bed of blah blah blah!
If you want to share your childhood food memories, leave your comments below.
I’m thinking there will be a few ‘chicken slice style’ dishes from you. And there’s nothing wrong with that.
Just don’t cook it for Gary and George. Matt Preston on the other hand, will eat anything.
