South Australian Premier Mike Rann is facing some serious questions this week. After the explosive allegations aired on 7's Sunday Night, some people reckon he could be struggling to hold onto his job.
Michelle Chantelois told 7's Sunday Night program that she had sex with Mike Rann on his Parliamentary desk, and at North Adelaide Golf Course.
The Premier's issued a written statement saying he's 'saddened' about 'a series of allegations that were totally false'. What's interesting is that he hasn't categorically denied the alleged relationship.
It comes down to a 'he said, she said' style situation. She claims they were intimate, and that the relationship began while she was working in the Parliamentary Dining Room. She claims she would drive him to the North Adelaide Golf Course in the dead of night where they'd have sex. She's also claimed that he re-enacted a scene from the movie 'Unfaithful' with her.
Psychological experts reckon she's telling the truth, because of her sincerity, her facial expressions and emotion during last night's paid interview.
We'll find out a bit more on Monday, whether the Premier is still flat out denying the allegations. Wouldn't you like to be a fly on the wall in his Victoria Square office right now?
Mike Rann would be wishing this didn't happen so close to an election. South Aussies will be heading to the polls on March 20, 2010. And you can bet, if he doesn't call it quits, every single time he's in front of a camera between now and then, he'll be quizzed about it.
