A tour for music juggernauts U2 has been confirmed for December 2010.
As NovaFM.com.au exclusively revealed earlier this week, the rock giants are set to gift Australian fans the best Christmas present ever as they bring their 360° Tour to Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth in December.
With plenty of days off between tour dates, you can be sure second shows in most markets will be added.
This is U2's first Australian sojourn since their critically acclaimed 2006 tour which saw them sell out multiple outdoor arenas.
The 360° Tour has drawn nothing but praise from fans and media who've so far been lucky enough to witness the spectacular. The 360° Tour was put together in support of U2's latest album No Line on the Horizon and as the name suggests offers fans a 360° concert experience.
Popularised by Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears in recent years, 'in the round' performances have become fan favourites, however U2 have taken the concept to a new level as they seamlessly execute the concept in outdoor venues.
The stage is held together by a structure called 'The Claw' which is a four legged supporting rig which has seen this show's production set a world record for the largest concert stage structure of all time.
"We have some magic, and we've got some beautiful objects we're going to take around the world, and we're inside that object," lead singer Bono explained to MTV last year.
A support act for the tour is yet to be announced but considering they brought Kanye West along for their last Australian visit an equally stellar act should be expected.
U2 360° Tour dates: Wednesday 1 December - Etihad Stadium, Melbourne Wednesday 8 September - Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane Monday 13 December - ANZ Stadium, Sydney Saturday 18 December - Subiaco Oval, Perth
