But... well Hughesy forgot them. He has been telling Kate all morning that he left them at home. At first Kate was sceptical, thinking that he probably forgot to purchase. That this all was an elaborate rouse, so that he could stall for time, so that he could go and buy something from the service station. But then she got confirmation from Hughesy's wife Holly, that he had indeed bought something for her.

He is being very aloof about what it is.
