Fashionista Whitney Port is heading to Melbourne for L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Week. The star of popular series The City and the Hills is coming to Australia as the special guest of the Target Red Market, a market event as part of the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival.
She told Grazia magazine that she’s so excited to hit the Australian Shops. “I’m so excited. I remember when I came to Australia before I was so impressed because it was very fashion-forward. It’s an up and coming fashion scene for sure, and has a lot of brands that America doesn’t have, so it will be exciting for me.”
She used her set fame from the series the Hills, staying away from the press and gossip off set, to concentrate on a career in the Fashion Industry. One in which she has succeeded with and until recently was an employee at Fashion powerhouse Diane von Furstenberg. Her background was certainly Fashion focused before she hit our TV screens having worked at Teen Vogue, Women’s Wear Daily and People’s Revolution (A huge Fashion PR firm) where she currently works now.
She is now set on channeling her fashion and red carpet skills into her own label named Whitney Eve, a collection of feminine, pretty and dainty pieces with a fashion forward edge. Similar styles to Australian Designers Nicola Finetti and Wayne Cooper.
The event will be held in Melbourne next week on March 20th 2010 as a part of the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. Watch this space for an exclusive interview with the fashion celebrity herself!
