Who's annual best selling issue again produces some juicy, hot pictures, but offers a great deal of style in the process. Stacey Lewis checks out the more stylish sexy looks the publication covered this year.
Sand Surf and Sun is the setting of this year’s annual readers favorite Who issue "Sexiest People of 2009". Leading ladies Megan Gale, Miranda Kerr and newcomer to the poll entertainer / DJ Ruby Rose, set the scene for the cover shot in Aussie "Togs" and looking like a scene direct out of Wild Things. A heterosexual man’s fantasy!
The magazines celebration of the chosen ‘easy on the eye’ personalities explore a specific angle to what makes one sexy, which may differ from other years. This difference is displayed through the choice of editorial photography where the photos chosen, aren’t necessarily about less is more but more about the right balance. Miranda Kerr’s shoot, which was shot whilst she was in the country recently for Spring Carnival, shows her in a simple black all in one which displays her shape and her intensity rather than her cleavage and bottom cheeks. “It’s all about energy, eyes and presence” she tells Who magazine.
Whilst fellow Aussie rockette Ruby Rose states that “she (doesn’t) like people who are too safe or perfect”. Ruby’s not keeping as much to the imagination as Miranda, the photos still offer a real chic’ look to the idea of sexy, with Rose sporting an open men’s style blazer and acid wash cut of jean shorts. Other Australian celebrities included in the top 50 were Supermodel Megan Gale, Joel Edgerton, Channel seven golden girl Sonia Kruger, Michael Clarke, Lara Bingle.
The Bingle - Clarke shoot is a great example of a mixture between sexy showing skin and high fashion, and the couple look comfortable at turning the heat up for the camera. Michael however tells Who Weekly that its not all about looks. “She’s gorgeous, but for me it’s much deeper than that.” Yeah right. She’s a hottie!
A regular to the poll however, and at 37, Cameron Diaz was happy to show that sexy was all skin. Her picture on the top of a building in Orlando, shows her fabulous toned and tanned body and tells Instyle “Sexy is about being in the moment..Faking is always lame”. Another hottie batting for the ‘older’ side of 40 is our very own glamours and witty Sonia Kruger who tells Who magazine “It’s surprising to think that (I could) be other people’s perception (of sexy)”.
Other celebrities that made it to the top 50 Ryan Reynolds, Bradley Cooper, Chance Crawford, a stemy picture published of Sienna Miller, Beyonce’ and Kate Winslet. Check out the full coverage in the latest Who magazine or check out some of the steamy pics in our gallery.
