Sia was in fine form in the media room when she accepted the ARIA trophy for Best Independent Artist.
"That’s going to hurt when I put it up my bum later,” Sia said, cradling her brand new shiny toy in her hand.
The Adelaide-born pop star told the press room while accolades were enjoyable, awards held very little significance in her life.
“It’s not really a measure of success in my life. It’s nice. It’s just nice. I don’t care if I win or not. I don’t care it’s nice but it’s fully whatever man,” she said.
Sia spoke about coming close chucking in the towel earlier this year when she was hit with a serious illness.
“I got sick with Grave’s Disease – and auto-immune disease. It’s a thyroid problem. I went from being a crazy person… to needing to sleep 20 hours a day, and I put on 20 kilos in the last three months. It’s a weirdo disease,” she explained.
“I just thought the world was out to get me and I didn’t want to do this anymore because you’re like public property and people were coming up to me all the time.
“I feel healthy so that’s nice and then to be given presents is always nice – and that’s a big heavy metal present.”
