Meshel Laurie caught Australian Story last night and was amazed by the inspirational story of Sam Goddard and Sally Nielsen.
Sam Goddard suffered from a stroke when he was just 24 years old, leaving him unable to speak or walk.
Doctors were skeptical of his recovery, going as far as to say that it would be better for him to 'catch an infection' than continue to battle on.
With Sam only expected to have a 5% chance of survival, Sally was determined to find a way to help her partner and she began researching on Google for cures.
It turned out that a controversial sleeping pill held a temporary cure which, when taken, enabled Sam to speak for up to an hour, assuring Sally and his family that he was still there, albeit trapped inside his body and unable to talk.
This amazing story is truly inspirational.
