Jason Derulo First interview after fracturing his neck
Talking openly to Nova FM’s Smallzy, Jason Deruo breaks his silence and speaks out about his neck injury.
While rehearsing for his upcoming tour, Derulo was running through one of his acrobatic moves when things went horribly wrong. Practicing his back tuck that he’s done hundred of times before, the singer went to do another one when he landed on his head.
While in the middle of the move and in mid air, Derulo knew things weren’t right “I didn’t tuck enough” Derulo told Nova FM's Smallzy “With that particular one I don’t know what it was. I was falling towards the ground and I was like, this could be bad. Right when it happened I was like am I dead right now, I don’t know if I’m alive” he said.
Fracturing his C2 vertebrae in his neck, the 22-year-old is going to be out of action for 6 months to recover and forcing him to cancel his tour. Looking on the bright side of life he told Smallzy “Everything happens for a reason man, I’ve been taking it as a blessing” he said.
The neck brace is still on and not coming off for another two months and he can’t do anything for another three months.
Interview taken from Smallzy’s Surgery on Nova FM from 7pm.
