Amy Meridith

Amy Meredith are a Sydney based band comprised of Christian Lo Russo (Vocals, Keys), Joel Chapman (Guitar), Wade Osborn (Bass), Cameron Laing (Guitar) and Elliott Hammond (Drums).

The band formed in 2006.

“We basically locked ourselves in a rehearsal studio in Sutherland developing our sound, “ Joel says.

The band was determined to write music that was fresh, that wasn’t so generic, and refused to play shows until they had a unique sound.

They played their first show in January 2007 and have since built a solid following in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

“We want to make people dance and have a good time. I guess our goal is to do what we do, and see how far it takes us …” says front man Christian.

The band has been lucky enough to be picked to to tour with major international acts such as Hard Fi & Silversun Pickups, as well as playing this years St Kilda Festival. Amy Meredith also paired up with hipsters Little Red to do month long co-headlining residencies in both Sydney and Melbourne.

In January 2008 Amy Meredith recorded their debut EP with Sydney producers John Hardy and Peter Mayes (Pnau). The self titled 4-track features The Smiths / Joy Division inspired single ‘Black Eyes’.
