Melbourne rocker & singer-songwriter Katie Weston is regarded as one of the most versatile up and coming contemporary artists in Melbourne.
She released her debut single THIS IS WHAT I REALLY WANT in 2007 and has had the music video for the track, which she produced and funded herself, aired on network TV. Katie's debut EP "SAY THE WORD" was recorded at the Sing-Sing Studios and was released in 2010 on iTunes and digi-stores world wide.
A finalist in Nova 100's "I'm With The Band" comp in 2010, Katie also supported Aussie rockers Thirsty Merc on their Mousetrap Heart tour and rocked crowds supporting BlueJuice at the 2011 Australian Open. She has played successful original gigs at Melbourne's leading music venues Revolver, Ding Dong Lounge, Eurotrash, Northcote Social Club, East Brunswick Club.
Katie's music has been described as Paramore meets Katy Perry meets Kelly Clarkson and has been influenced by Australian bands Karnivool, The Butterfly Effect and old school Savage Garden, Weston's songs have been featured on TV series Songwriters Across Australia, alongside other artists such as Kate Cebrano and Sarah Blasko.
Always the musician and composer, Weston also hold a Bachelor of Music Composition from the Victorian College Of The Arts in Melbourne and is currently working on a new, full length rock musical based on the works of Quinten Tarantino and Frank Miller.
Her vocals are also currently surfing the airways on Joy FM and retails stores around the globe as the voice of Melbourne electro-dance duo Starship Sailor with their house single I'M SO PERFECT.
Katie teamed up in early 2009 with Melbourne DJ/Producer Paul Bell to become the rockin' voice of duo and attended the ARIA Awards in Sydney following the single's success. The duo have released five singles since then.
It's always been Katie's intention to fill the gap in the Australian music scene that's been waiting for her. She's fresh, she's hot, and her sound and passion are intoxicating.
