Playing a performance at a homeless shelter inspired Ed Sheeran’s huge hit “The A Team”.
The UK singer and songwriter told NovaFM he never would have predicted this track would become big enough to take him around the globe on a promo trip.
“I did a gig I a homeless shelter around two years ago and it was about that experience and one of the people I met here. I drew a lot of inspiration from it,” he said.
“I didn’t think (“The A Team”) would become as popular as it was, or is… It has a lot of drug references in it and it’s about a touchy subject with a bit of a controversial video.
“When we originally went to radio and TV with it, they said they weren’t going to play it.”
