It’s been decades of whoopsie daises but it appears Raven-Symoné has finally had enough and corrected us all on the proper pronunciation of her name.

The former child star first hit our screens in 1989 as Olivia Kendall on The Crosby Show before going on to star as the eponymous Raven on That’s So Raven.

She became a household name for many but coincidentally, it’s also a name many households have gotten wrong.

Taking to TikTok, the actor revealed the way her name should actually be pronounced, thus putting egg on all our faces.

Yes! ‘Si-moan’ is incorrect, ‘see-mon-ye’ is correct. We’ve been schooled.

Rubbing it in, Raven-Symoné added a comment which read: “See-mon-ye like ‘yay.'”

The Disney Channel star is one in a bundle of celebs who’ve clarified the pronunciation of their names lately.

Brendan Fraser recently told Variety’s Actors on Actors that many say his surname as ‘Fray-zsur’, like the TV show Frasier. However, the 54-year-old star said it is “supposed to be like ‘razor'” but gave up on the hopes of a proper pronunciation years ago.

Margot Robbie has also touched on the pronunciation of her first name explaining that she loves returning home as Australians don’t hit the ‘r’ sound in her name too hard.

“You know, you have the premiere and people scream out your name. I just love hearing my name with an Aussie accent too because in America everyone hits the R.”

“They [Americans] got ‘Marrr-go'”‘ not ‘”‘MAr-go’,” she clarified.
